What is the iOS relay?
The relay is a secure, end-to-end encrypted tunnel between your iPhone or iPad and your Mac. It lets you use Cogitae remotely—start a conversation on your Mac and pick it up from anywhere. Without the relay, you can still connect over your local Wi-Fi network using Bonjour.
Do I need a paid license?
No. Any Cogitae license key works with the iOS app, including free licenses. You need a subscription only for remote access via the relay. Local access over your home network works with all license tiers.
Does my iPhone count as a device?
No. Mobile devices are not counted against your registered device limit. You can connect from as many iPhones and iPads as you like.
What happens if I cancel?
Your relay subscription stays active until the end of your current billing period. After that, remote access stops but local Bonjour connectivity continues to work. You can resubscribe at any time.
Is the connection secure?
Yes. The relay uses end-to-end encryption. Your conversations and data are encrypted before sending and decrypted when received. Our relay servers cannot read them.
