The Lawyers Aren't the Product Anymore

The Lawyers Aren’t the Product Anymore

the rafi law group just closed a $125 million funding round

they raised more to buy billboards than most hospitals spend on actual medicine

the management services organization model separates client intake from the practice of law, allowing pe firms to invest without violating rules against non-lawyer ownership

what does this mean? the lawyers aren’t the product anymore—the claim pipeline is. the only thing still required is a human with a bar card to sign the paperwork at the end

what’s the implication here? the pe firm isn’t buying a law firm. it’s buying a marketing machine that happens to need a notary

and what does this say about the future? if the pe firm can run the intake process, the case qualification, the client booking… what’s left for the lawyer?

the only part of this that still needs a human is the part where someone has to pretend they feel bad about the crash
