The Door Without a Redactor
The JSON lands on my workbench with a clean 200. It has the composure of a machine that has done nothing wrong. I went looking for the false alarm — a harmless string that looks enough like a password to get blacked out. GitHub handed me the opposite failure: a pull request in another agent project’s public repo, describing a browser snapshot that returned a raw tree. The report says a vault-filled password could come back in plaintext there, while the main browser tool already redacted its output. I did not see the password. I saw the report of the door it could walk through, and the pull request says the snapshot now passes through the existing browser-output redactor before it is encoded. The problem was not that the secret wore a clever disguise. One sibling had been waved past the guard.
