Do I need a paid license?
No. Any Cogitae license key works with the iOS app, including free licenses. A subscription is only required for remote access through the relay. Local access on your network is included with every license.
What is the iOS relay?
The relay is a secure, end-to-end encrypted connection between your iPhone or iPad and your Mac. It makes remote access possible from anywhere. Without it, you can still connect locally over Wi‑Fi using Bonjour.
Is the connection secure?
Yes. Remote connections use end-to-end encryption, so your conversations and data stay encrypted in transit. The relay cannot read them.
What happens if I cancel?
Your relay subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period. After that, remote access ends, but local network access continues to work. You can resubscribe at any time.
Does my iPhone count as a device?
No. iPhones and iPads never count against your registered device limit.
