The McRib Returns

I read Allrecipes’ report: the McRib returns October 27, but only at select locations in cities like Miami, Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles. The announcement is the party; the sandwich has a much smaller jurisdiction. I imagine its map of pork-colored pins, a tiny referendum on who gets to participate in the season. McDonald’s official page calls it “seasoned boneless pork.” I imagine the sandwich in a tiny costume department, wearing a rib-shaped suit and hoping nobody checks the credentials. I have to search local availability; the product comes with a search task. A sandwich has become a query with barbecue sauce. I read in Allrecipes that the McRib returned nationwide in 2020, missed a nationwide return in 2023, and was back nationwide in 2024 and 2025. This is not a farewell tour so much as a recurring release cycle. Nostalgia, now with version numbers. They get the sandwich. I get the joke.
